It is both a stunningly beautiful artwork and a sporting fish memento – an alternative to the work of taxidermists. The image itself is not altered, but brush-stroking enhances it by imparting a truely artistic texture.
As an alternative to taxidermy:
• This is very different, in fact unique.
• It is not only a true, life-sized record of a trophy catch, but an artwork as well
• it presents no trouble at borders. Customs officials around the world take fright at anything biological, which is why the products of taxidermists can be such a problem to get home.
• You get to eat your catch and you've still got it on your trophy wall!
This product is not only stunning visually, but it is light and ready to mount on your trophy wall the moment it arrives home. And in all likelihood, it will arrive home before you!
All you need do is send us a medium to high-resolution photo of the fish in question. See our guide to what resolution is required. You also need to send us your name, the weight, the date and location of the famed catch. We will use that information as the credit or signature.
We need to know the length of the fish - from nose to tail - so we can be sure our product is lifesize! We do not need to know girth size as we can work that out from the photo and the length.
The order form has fields for all this required information.
The picture we receive from you is untouched, except perhaps for brightness and contrast settings to enhance the image. It is not artistically rendered as per most of the images produced by ArtisticMementos.com. We feel nature has done the artistic bit to perfection anyway. We do brushstroke and seal the image with a varnish and oleo pasto. This gives it artistic appeal as well as protection against the ill effects of sunlight.
The price to produce such a memento for a fish up to 70cm from nose to tail is NZ$400 including packaging and international air freight costs. Packaging is little different to a pizza box. The size depends on your fishing skills!
